Fir Beetle and Fuel Hazard Reduction

The Williams Lake Fire Department would like to inform residents that Pioneer Logging will be conducting burning near and above the Wal Mart site from now through mid-April, depending on adequate snow pack levels.

The purpose of the burning is to remove fir beetle infested piles. This will reduce the fuel hazard and prevent the spread of fir beetle into the adjacent forested areas.

The Fire Department has ensured that safety measures have been put in place and will be working with Pioneer Logging.
