Parks, Trails & Outdoor Recreation Master Plan
Welcome to the 2010 Williams Lake Parks, Trails, Outdoor Recreation Master Plan.
Our parks, trails, and outdoor recreation opportunities provide us with places to have fun, explore and celebrate where we live.
The Process of building a Parks, Trails and Outdoor Recreation Master plan for Williams Lake started many months ago and Stantec was awarded the contract to undertake this work. After an information gathering stage of several months an initial public input process was undertaken in January 2010. Several hundred people participated in the stakeholder meetings, open houses, and through static displays located around the City.
Based on this initial process and the feedback provided to Stantec the plan has evolved to this step which indentifies the key development initiatives that when approved will be the basis of the final plan. These key development initiatives will then be further broken down to provide implementation plans, both in the short and long term, which will be the essence of the final Master Planning document.
As the process continues to provide opportunities for your input, the ideas you can offer now will contribute to documenting community hopes, desires and concerns. The plan will build on the community's vision and it will use the input from the public and stakeholders to achieve realistic directions for a connected community through future growth of the parks, trails and outdoor recreation framework. The key to all of this is your involvement. Thank you for continuing to speak up and share.
