The City’s Integrated Community Sustainability Plan (ICSP) identifies 10 key Priority Areas Priority Areas that form the skeleton of an overarching document to engage community leaders and organizations to take proactive steps together that create a sustainable Williams Lake. The ICSP goes on to identify gaps in the priority areas and provides an incremental 25-year vision to achieve success in these areas.
The ICSP also acts as the framework for the Official Community Plan (OCP) and is intended to be a lens through which all other City projects and policies are reviewed for sustainability.
The Official Community Plan (OCP) is the guiding document for land use and development within the City. All lands are designated within the City for certain uses, under the vision of the OCP. All new development must conform with the land use designation and general goals, objectives, and policies set out in the OCP. In some cases an amendment to the OCP may be required.
The City’s Heritage Advisory Committee has a mandate to maintain and enhance the Established Heritage Values.
